FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of therapy do you offer?
We offer Narrative Therapy, Inner Child Healing, Grief and Loss support, Addictions Therapy, Suicide Prevention, and Healing Ceremonies. Every service is trauma-informed, culturally safe, and grounded in Indigenous knowledge. We also provide advocacy and support for Jordan's Principle, helping families navigate access to services and resources for children.
What makes your team different?
We are 100% Indigenous-owned and operated, supported by an entirely Indigenous Board of Directors. Our practitioners are clean and sober professionals with real lived experience of recovery and healing. With more than 100 years of combined Indigenous knowledge, lived experience, and community support, we bring authenticity, compassion, and understanding to every interaction.
Is every service trauma-informed?
Yes. Every session is approached with trauma-informed care — meaning safety, cultural respect, compassion, and choice are built into how we work. We understand the impacts of intergenerational trauma, residential school experiences, and systemic barriers, and we meet each person where they are.
Do you offer services in Indigenous languages?
Yes. Services are available in Cree, Dene, and Saulteaux where applicable. Being able to receive support in your own language can be a powerful part of healing, and we are honoured to offer this when possible.
What is Jordan's Principle and can you help?
Jordan's Principle is a legal rule that ensures First Nations children can access the products, services, and supports they need, when they need them. We provide advocacy and practical support to help families navigate Jordan's Principle applications and access the services their children are entitled to.
What is NIHB?
NIHB stands for Non-Insured Health Benefits, a federal program for First Nations and Inuit clients. It covers professional mental health counselling and other benefits not available through provincial, territorial, or private insurance.
How do I know if I have NIHB coverage?
You are generally eligible if you are a resident of Canada and a First Nations person registered under the Indian Act, an Inuk recognized by an Inuit land claim organization, or a child under two years old whose parent is an eligible NIHB client. We can help you confirm your eligibility during intake.
Where is therapy offered?
We serve all of Saskatchewan, with both in-office and outreach (out-of-office) sessions, including community and land-based visits where appropriate.
I'm out of town with no transportation — can you help?
Yes. Transportation can often be arranged through NIHB when medically required health services are not available on reserve or in your community of residence. Ask us during intake and we will help coordinate.
